Professional Experiences:
I have been providing behavior analytic services as a BCBA at DE since May of 2024. Prior to working at DE, I had 2 ½ years of experience working in Maine as a BCBA at a special purpose private school for children
with developmental disabilities. In my experiences, I have worked with children with varied skill levels and of all ages. Prior to receiving my certification as a behavior analyst, I worked as a School-Based Behavioral Health Professional. All in all, I have had 6 years of experience providing services based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
As a BCBA I conduct assessments to identify skill deficits, environmental influences on behavior, and strategies to teach replacement behaviors/ new skills. Following assessment, I create programming based on evidence-based strategies and the findings from assessment for team members to implement with
the kiddo. Supervision is then provided to ensure programming is implemented consistently, as well as to determine if any changes need to be made to the plan. Another enjoyable part of my role here at DE is participating in ongoing training and collaboration with families to help them gain confidence in implementing programming and behavioral interventions with their children.
I am passionate about assisting children in developing socially significant skills, while continuing to encourage them to be their own individual self. I am grateful to have found myself in this career path. I sincerely enjoy learning and growing with the other providers, children, and families that I work with.
Personal Blurb:
I grew up in Sparta, Michigan but have resided in different regions across the United States including Colorado, Indiana, and Maine. In Colorado, I worked as a cabin counselor at a camp for children with serious illnesses. While working in Colorado, I loved hiking in the mountains, rafting down rivers, and back country camping. In Indiana, I worked within a public health role to help increase accessibility to healthy food and exercise facilities. My wife and I were looking for a change of pace after spending a year in Indiana, so we decided to move to Maine. We enjoyed the rural and rugged landscape of Maine, but in 2024 we decided that it’d be best to move back to be near family as we raise a child. In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son. Some of my hobbies include exercising, playing sports, watching sports, snowboarding, going to the mountains, hiking, and fishing.
